GILG Community Survey
Like most people, filling out surveys or doing telephone surveys is not my idea of fun.
However, surveys are by far the best way for government and industry to build a clear and balanced picture of what is important to the Gladstone community.
There are many organisations, particularly in Gladstone, who would like to better understand your opinions about industry related topics so that this information is taken into account in industry’s decision making. These surveys also help industry identify where we need to focus and improve our performance.
There are two possible weaknesses with this approach, survey fatigue and the potential influence a surveyor may have on the answers given and captured in a survey.
To overcome these problems, GILG members plan to combine their 2010 community surveys. This will both minimise the number of surveys the Gladstone community members are asked to complete and produce more independent findings.
Questions that industry intends to ask in this community survey include rating industry’s performance on community, social, environmental, workplace and corporate issues. We will also give community members the opportunity to provide other general comments about industry’s performance in Gladstone.
To build the credibility of the survey results, GILG would like the Gladstone community to have input into the survey questions. If you would like to have your say on the industry related questions asked in this collective survey, please contact me.
I am also interested to hear whether you prefer to complete face-to-face, telephone, online or written surveys and how long you think that a survey should take.
If you have any particular questions that you would like to have included in this survey or like to give me any other feedback, please let me our forum topic at www.gilg.com.au.
If you would like to have your say and don't know how, please click on this link which shows you how to register and make a comment, anonymously if you wish.
Alternatively, you can contact me on the number below to discuss your thoughts.
I look forward to hearing from you soon, cheers, Kurt.
